My art

I have always been interested in art in a general
sense. In the last four or five years I’ve
focused on
realistic subtractive sculpting using both wood
and stone mediums. While I also enjoy additive
sculpting in various mediums, I like the risks that
are inherent in subtractive sculpting. I tend to
lean toward realism in my work because I like to
work toward a known conclusion and want each
conclusion to draw some emotional value from a
common observer.

Skills

  • Subtractive Full Round Sculpting
  • Various Wood Types
  • Various Stone Types

Experience

  • My interest lies primarily in the challenges and
pleasures associated with subtractive sculpting. I
am self-taught and have only recently begun
attacking my educational objectives to help
improve my sculpting skills. I always look to other
artists for advice, counsel, and knowledge of tools
    and techniques.

  • I have been working and studying sculpting for
about five years. The more I learn, the more I
recognize I have so much more to learn.
